Early Mother's Day Celebration at King Chef

Image
It's just few days away before Mother's Day and what a great day to have a date with my son, Tristan! Spending time with him is one of the best days ever! I have always been a fan of Chinese food since childhood. I'm pure Filipino and spent childhood in Chinatown Binondo where I studied in Grade school, and that's how I was introduced to Chinese cuisine. During those days you can only find most of the best Chinese restaurants in Binondo and it's good to know that there are more you can find around the metro like King Chef.  Hot Tea and Kropek It's a tradition to have a drink of hot tea at the beginning of each meal or your option if want to have more after your meal. Kinder Day at Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant

Image
What comes into my mind when I hear about a German restaurant is their freshly brewed German beer in a mug as big as a pitcher, sausages and other cuisines that I am not so familiar with. It is a surprise to me when I went to Brotzeit with my daughter Rain when we saw an activity corner (Megabloks and other toys) with lots of kids meeting new friends that brings out their creativity. After a while of playing, they realized that they are already hungry. Rain normally is a picky eater and would just eat a very small amount like half a cup of rice and viand. Here, I am observing if she will be interested to try eating more. For a start, Rain order...

Honestly, I am so curious about their food and so here I am, ready to try what they serve. I am so surprised that I'm welcomed by the owner, Mr. Bernhardt Wagner and  co-owner Mr. Thomas Brekitsch. They introduced me to their line of food and where they get the ingredients which are mostly imported from Germany, Austria and USA. The place is about 2 weeks old and most of the time, the breads are sold out. They are sold cheaper if it was baked the previous day. The baker is the wife of co-owner Thomas, who showed us the prepared sour dough that's used in most of their breads. I've tried the  Frühstücksbrot - breakfast bread  (typical white, crusty), Drei Kornbrot (three grain bread), Pretzel and more. I favored    Frühstücksbrot,   which is really, really good with my coffee. ...
