Early Mother's Day Celebration at King Chef


It's just few days away before Mother's Day and what a great day to have a date with my son, Tristan! Spending time with him is one of the best days ever! I have always been a fan of Chinese food since childhood. I'm pure Filipino and spent childhood in Chinatown Binondo where I studied in Grade school, and that's how I was introduced to Chinese cuisine. During those days you can only find most of the best Chinese restaurants in Binondo and it's good to know that there are more you can find around the metro like King Chef. 


Hot Tea and Kropek
It's a tradition to have a drink of hot tea at the beginning of each meal or your option if want to have more after your meal. I like doing both. The kropek, appetizing while deciding what to order or while waiting food to be served. 


On our table, with my son, and some friends with their moms, we were served the Set B meal. 


The exciting part begins with Peking duck! I love watching how it is prepared for us the traditional way -- how it is skinned, sliced and served with hoisin sauce, scallion and cucumber! Of course, the taste really matters. Perfectly done and tastes so good!


Seafood with Spinach Soup
I usually eat fried spinach and when I tried this combination of seafood and spinach as a soup I am surprised, I love it! This is what I like, delicious and healthy food.


Spareribs in A-1 Sauce
The saucy meat with A-1 sauce contrast the salty and a bit of sweetness. 


Salted Fish with Chicken Fried Rice
My meal won't be complete without rice. This combination is of fish and chicken with rice is already a complete meal. 


Minced Duck with Lettuce
I enjoyed every bite of the mouthwatering minced duck that I personally wrapped in fresh and crispy lettuce.


Steamed Pompano with Chili Taosi
A little bit of saltiness, sweetness and spicy flavor on top of freshly steamed Pompano  is divine.

Avocado is one of my favorite fruits, whether for dessert or dips. This is my first time to try it in a meal and what can I say? It's heavy and palatable! Aside from the very nice presentation, I recommend that you try it! 


Crispy Chicken in Mango Plum Sauce
The sweet and sour taste of Mango Plum Sauce is a superb partner of the crispy chicken.
