Wagner German Bakery

This is the first time that I am going to a German bakery/restaurant, and I have no idea what they have aside from the breads that I have heard of. Honestly, I am so curious about their food and so here I am, ready to try what they serve. I am so surprised that I'm welcomed by the owner, Mr. Bernhardt Wagner and  co-owner Mr. Thomas Brekitsch. They introduced me to their line of food and where they get the ingredients which are mostly imported from Germany, Austria and USA.

The place is about 2 weeks old and most of the time, the breads are sold out. They are sold cheaper if it was baked the previous day. The baker is the wife of co-owner Thomas, who showed us the prepared sour dough that's used in most of their breads. I've tried the Frühstücksbrot - breakfast bread (typical white, crusty), Drei Kornbrot (three grain bread), Pretzel and more. I favored  Frühstücksbrot,  which is really, really good with my coffee.

They also have different beverages that you can choose depending on your mood -- coffee, beer, shake/juice or just water. I tried first Kaffee Verkehrt (mocha with a lot of milk), the nearest version of coffee latte. Wagner German Bakery still follow the tradition in serving their coffee. It is served in an oval stainless tray with doily and a small glass of water. It feels so good and warm on a rainy night having coffee and bread while working and waiting for some friends to arrive. The place is so clean and the cups and mugs are neatly and creatively arranged at the corner near the coffee machine. I just love to look around and feel the culture of Germany. All glass wares are customized, stone beer mugs are made to maintain the cold temperature of beer, and there's this special stone beer mug  with cover that is for VIPs. Cool!

For the VIP beer mug, there must always be a cup-shaped froth on top.

Now, here comes the main dishes. For breakfast, they serve German, American and Filipino dishes. For lunch and dinner, they serve all German dishes (no rice).  We were overwhelmed with the vast servings and all are mouth-watering. We're having a feast! I am so full, and still eating more!

Their best seller is Schnitzel (choice of veal, chicken, or pork), served with their signature Potato Salad
Nürnberger Bratwürste, grilled pork sausages (5 pcs) with Sauerkraut
Curry Wurst, Sausage with Pommes & Wagners Homemade Curry Sauce

Hausgemachter Leberkase, Homemade Meat Loaf with potato salad and pretzel

Fiaker Goulash is a Beef Goulash with fried egg and fried sausage and dumpling
Käsespätzle is homemade noodles with cheese and roasted onions

For the sweet tooth, they also have some choices that you can't resist to try. Anyway, I preferred to try the Pistachio ice cream. Oh my, it's one of the best homemade ice cream!

To complete the night, we all had a drink of their German beer (light) with of course the owner himself, Mr. Wagner.

Prost!

Oops! There's more! Went home with a happy smile and free chocolates. :)
